Health Care Assistants
Healthcare assistants (HCA), work under the guidance of a qualified healthcare professional, (usually a nurse) playing a vital role in general practice taking bloods, undertaking non-complex dressings, performing health checks, removal of stitches, spirometry, blood pressure checks, ECGs and ambulatory ECGs.
Currently we are supported at The Molebridge Practice by Laura-Rose Hall and Patricia Southam.
The community midwives are employed by Epsom St Helier Healthcare Trust and share your antenatal care with your doctor. They can also arrange for you to attend parent craft classes. They will also care for you and your baby when you return home from hospital. They may be contacted on 01372 735735.
If you are housebound the doctors may arrange for a district nurse to call at your home to perform various nursing duties. To contact our nurses telephone 01372 384323, from 08:30 – 17:00. Between 17:00 – 23:00 please telephone The Twilight Nursing Service on 01372 384432.
A health visitor is a registered nurse who has received training particularly related to babies, children and pregnant women. Their role is to provide families with children under five years old with support and advice around the general aspects of mental, physical and social wellbeing.
The 0-19 Team consists of health visitors, school nurses, community nursery nurses and staff nurses. They are based at Leatherhead Hospital and can be contacted on 01372 384327. A Baby Clinic is held on Tuesday mornings 09:00 – 11:00 at Trinity Children’s Centre, Aperdele Road, Leatherhead.
